Gogglebox Star George Gilbey Dies at 40 in Workplace Accident
Tragic news struck the entertainment industry as George Gilbey, a beloved star from the popular show Gogglebox, passed away at the age of 40 in a workplace accident.
Gilbey gained fame through his appearances on the Channel 4 series Gogglebox, where he featured alongside his mother, Linda McGarry, and stepfather, Pete McGarry, who sadly passed away earlier this year at the age of 71. Additionally, Gilbey participated in the 14th series of Celebrity Big Brother in 2014, reaching the final.
The tragic incident occurred when Gilbey suffered a fatal fall at work. Essex Police responded to the incident in Shoebury, Southend-on-Sea, where Gilbey had fallen from a height.
A spokesperson from Gogglebox expressed their condolences, stating, “George was part of the Gogglebox family for eight series alongside his mum, Linda, and stepdad, Pete. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Linda and George’s family and friends during this very sad time. The family has requested privacy.”
Ricci Guarnaccio, a former star of Geordie Shore and Gilbey’s co-star on Celebrity Big Brother, paid tribute to his friend in a heartfelt post.
